GOD, AA

"To Trust and Rely on GOD".

THAT is the most powerful statement i took away from last night's AA Big Book Step Study Meeting. GOD is the BASIS of AA. a belief in a "higher power", obviously GOD, is how we not only stay sober a day at a time, but also live our lives on a daily basis.

the other mind-blowing statement that really stuck with me was,
"align your will with GOD'S" and all will be right in your life". WOW, am i dense or WHAT?

i've been "comin around" to AA mtgs for 20 yrs now! i NEVER heard that before!
i've never formally done the steps either, except step 1, oh, about hmmm, 16 yrs ago? 18? hmm, so, i stayed sober for 5 yrs, when we lived down the Cape, i used to go to mtgs and bring; a 6 yr old, a 4 yr old, a 2 yr old and a newborn!!! wow, i can't believe that was ME! i was soooo strong then! and right-minded!!! i was doing the right thing.  i suppose moving back up here from the Cape was a mistake, but alas, i cannot go back NOW.

what i CAN do, it START TODAY! TO TRUST AND RELY ON GOD, in ALL matters of my life!!! it sounds so simple!! why didn't i "get" it before???? hmm, dense, like i said.
i am blessed that i am in recovery and am going to ask a certain woman who spoke last night, to be my step sponsor!! i'm soooo scared about asking, but a closed mouth does not get fed right? the worst she can say is, sorry i can't right now. that's not earth-shattering :)

wow! i am sooooo filled with HOPE, hope that only HE can give me. i have had a SPIRITUAL AWAKENING!!!

i also want to go back to church, but i dont know which i should do, the old Catholic route? or the born again Christians who think AA is an un-necessary cult??????? i am going to write to one of my followers who is a spiritual woman, also an inspiration to me. i hope there is a way to private msg her :O  can't you touch on someone's profile and pm them???? 

ok, i need to close for now, so i can go do that :)
